CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR
CONCRETE REPLACEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK
TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONTRACT NO. PWS06-21ENG.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to replace damaged concrete in accordance with
the City's ongoing street maintenance program; and
WHEREAS, the contract and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to the Concrete
Replacement Project No. PWS06-21ENG, have been prepared and are on file in the
Public Works-Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated herein by
reference; and
WHEREAS, Infrastructure Replacement Funds are available in the amount of $1,050,000
for completion of the concrete repairs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,

California, as follows:1b
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
„„ 2. That the specifications and contract documents for the Concrete ReplacementTo
Project No. PWS06-21ENG are on file in the Public Works-Engineering Department of the City of
Carlsbad and are hereby approved.
3. Funding in the amount of $1,050,000 shall be appropriated from the Infrastructure
Replacement Fund in order to complete the concrete replacement.

4. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to publish,
in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the construction of the
Concrete Replacement Project No. PWS06-21ENG, in accordance with the specifications
and contract documents referred to herein.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 24th day of January , 2006 by the following vote, to wit:
