2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND
3 APPROPRIATING A DONATION FROM THE FRIENDS OF
4 THE LIBRARY
5 WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad Library have donated $44,950 to the
6 Carlsbad City Library for the purchase of audio books for the collection, furniture for
7 meetings and programming and miscellaneous petty cash expenditures for program
8 support; and
9 WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad Library have pledged an additional
10 $28,675 of direct support for a variety of programs and events for children, teens and
11
adults;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
15 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
16 2. That the City Council accepts the gift of $44,950 from the Friends of the
17 Library on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and hereby authorizes the
18 Finance Director to appropriate the received funds to the Library budget.

3. That the City Council acknowledges with thanks the additional sum of
20
$28,675 pledged in direct support of a variety of programs and events for
children, teens and adults in the community.^Z*

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 17th day of July, 2007, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
