RESOLUTION NO.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE CARLSBAD
RESIDENTIAL TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
4 2007 PRIORITY RANKING OF CANDIDATE STREETS.
5 WHEREAS, the City Council has established the Carlsbad Residential Traffic
6 Management Program as the means to evaluate residential streets for potential implementation of
7 traffic calming measures; and
8 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Residential Traffic Management Program includes a
9 methodology to assess streets that are candidates for traffic calming to establish a priority ranking;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, two residential streets qualify for consideration of being included on the
12 Carlsbad Residential Traffic Management Program 2007 Priority Ranking of Candidate Streets;
13 and
14 WHEREAS, Donna Drive from Chestnut Avenue to Carlsbad Village Drive was
'* recommended by the Traffic Safety Commission as the Number 1 ranked street at their
ifi10 November 5, 2007 meeting; and
WHEREAS, Sierra Morena Avenue from Milano Drive to Trieste Drive was

recommended by the Traffic Safety Commission as the Number 2 ranked street at their
1Q November 5, 2007 meeting.
90^ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
21 California, as follows:
22 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the Carlsbad Residential Traffic Management Program 2007 Priority
24 Ranking of Candidate Streets establishes Donna Drive from Chestnut Avenue to Carlsbad Village
25 Drive as the Number 1 ranked street and Sierra Morena Avenue from Milano Drive to Trieste Drive
26 as the Number 2 ranked street.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 18th day of December, 2007, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
