A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING
A CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TRAFFIC
4 SIGNAL AT CALLE BARCELONA AND PASEO AVELLANO,
PROJECT NO. 6306-1.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
6
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct a traffic signal at the intersection of
7
Calle Barcelona and Paseo Avellano; and
8
WHEREAS, five (5) sealed bids were received on June 4, 2008 for the project: and
9
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive, responsible bid for the project was submitted by
10
T&M Electric, Inc., in the amount of $169,900; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient General Capital Construction funds available to
12
complete construction of the traffic signal.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,14
California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.16
2. That the low bid submitted by T&M Electric, Inc., in the amount of $169,900, is
hereby accepted and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City for

.Q the construction of the traffic signal at Calle Barcelona and Paseo Avellano.i y
__ 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve construction change
21 orders up to $25,485 for Project No. 6306-1.
22 4. That the award of this contract is contingent upon the bidder submitting the
23 lowest responsible bid executing the required contract and submitting the required bonds and
24 insurance policies, as described in the contract, within twenty (20) days of adoption of this
25 resolution. The City Manager may grant reasonable extensions of time.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 24th day of June, 2008, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
