A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING
A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE 2010
4 CONCRETE REPLACEMENT PROJECT NO. 6013.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
6 necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to replace damaged concrete; and
^ WHEREAS, the project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
8 pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301(c); and
g WHEREAS, on March 23, 2010, the City Council approved contract documents and
specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other

expenses necessary or incidental to the 2010 Concrete Replacement Project No. 6013; and
WHEREAS, seventeen (17) sealed bids were received on May 6, 2010 for the project;
12 and
13 WHEREAS, the lowest responsive, responsible bid for the project was submitted by
Crest Equipment Inc., in the amount of $187,896; and14
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds available in the Concrete Replacement Program
15 (CIP No. 6013) account for construction of the project.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
17 California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.18
2. That the bid submitted by Crest Equipment Inc., in the amount of $187,896 is
19 hereby accepted and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the contract for the construction
20 of the 2010 Concrete Replacement Project No. 6013, in accordance with the specifications and
21 contract documents referred to herein.
22 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve construction change
orders up to the contingency amount of $28,184 to Crest Equipment Inc. for the 2010 Concrete

Replacement, Project No. 6013.
4. That the award of this contract is contingent upon Crest Equipment Inc.
25 executing the required contract and submitting the required bonds and insurance policies, as
26 described in the contract, within twenty (20) calendar days of adoption of this resolution. The City
Manager may grant reasonable extensions of time.

of the City of Carlsbad on the 8th day of June, 2010, by the following vote to wit:
