2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION
3 FROM THE CARLSBAD FRIENDS OF THE ARTS

5 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Friends of the Arts has generously offered to donate
6 $20,000 to the Cultural Arts Office for the 2010 TGIF Jazz in the Parks concert series;
7 and
8 WHEREAS, this donation will provide $20,000 for personnel and operational

services such as part-time crew, shuttle buses, porta-toilets, truck rentals, trash and
10 recycling services, and supplies at the TGIF Jazz concerts.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of

Carlsbad, California, as follows:13
14 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
15 2. That the City Council accepts the donation of $20,000 from the Carlsbad
16 Friends of the Arts to cover personnel and operational services related to the
17 2010 TGIF Jazz in the Parks concert series.
18 3. That the City Council acknowledges the donation with an appropriate letter of
19
thanks.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 22nd day of June, 2010, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Council Member Packard.
