2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A
3 DONATION FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
AND APPROPRIATING THE RECEIVED FUNDS4
5 WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad City Library have donated $1,392 to the
6 Library in support of the Carlsbad Reads Together program and the Adult Summer
7 Reading Program; and

WHEREAS, the Friends have pledged an additional $20,419 in direct support of
9 the Children's Summer Reading Program.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
11
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
13 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
14 2. That the City Council accepts the donation of $1,392 from the Friends of
the Carlsbad Library on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and authorizes
16
the Finance Director to appropriate the received funds to the Library
17
budget.18
19 3. That the City Council acknowledges with thanks the pledge of an
20 additional $20,419 from the Friends of the Library in support of the
21 Children's Summer Reading Program.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 22nd day of February, 2011, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Blackburn, Douglas and Packard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
