2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO
EXECUTE, IN THE NAME OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, ALL
NECESSARY FORMS FOR THE PURPOSE OF APPLYING FOR GRANT
FUNDING FROM THE FEDERAL STATE HOMELAND SECURITY
5 GRANT PROGRAM, TO ENHANCE FIRE AND POLICE EMERGENCY
PREPAREDNESS.

WHEREAS, THE CITY OF Carlsbad Fire and Police Departments are eligible to receive
federal grant funds through the FY 2014 State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) for
emergency preparedness; and
11 WHEREAS, the approved grant allocation for the City of Carlsbad is $83,506; and
12 WHEREAS, the federal grant funds for SHSGP require no city matching funds, and all
grant-related expenditures are 100% reimbursable, the city shall incur no direct costs; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Carlsbad Fire and Police Departments to
participate in this program to enhance emergency preparedness;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
18 California, as follows:
19 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That City Council authorizes the submittal of this grant application.
3. That the City Manager or designee is authorized to execute, in the name of the
City of Carlsbad, all necessary forms for the purpose of applying for SHSP grant
