2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CAUFORNIA, APPROVING PLANDS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
4 NORTH BATIQUITOS LIFT STATION PUMP REPLACEMENT, PROJECT
NO. 5517.

^ WHEREAS, the North Batiquitos Lift Station's wastewater pumps and discharge manifold

along with miscellaneous appurtenances have reached their useful life and are in need of
replacement; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing all labor, materials, tools,
11 equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to the North Batiquitos
12 Lift Station Pump Replacement, Project No. 5517 have been prepared and are on file in the
Public Works Department ofthe City of Carlsbad and are incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, the project is exempt from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15302(c) in that it is a replacement of an existing utility

jy system on the same site and a Notice of Exemption was filed with the San Diego County Clerk
18 on May 29, 2014; and
19 WHEREAS, funds in the Sewer Replacement Fund are sufficient for the project.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,

California, as follows that:

The above recitations are true and correct.

24 2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents for the North Batiquitos
25 Lift Station, Project No. 5517 are on file in the Public Works Department of the City of Carlsbad
2^ and hereby approved.

1 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
2 publish, in accordance with state law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting bids for the Construction
3
of the North Batiquitos Lift Station Pump Replacement, Project No. 5517, in accordance with
4
the plans, specifications, and contract documents referred to herein.
