2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING OUT OF STATE TRAVEL FOR THE
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COORDINATOR TO ATTEND THE U.S.
4 CHAMBER FOUNDATION CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP AWARDS
CEREMONY

WHEREAS, the City Council concurs that it is in the public interest to authorize out-of-
state travel for the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to attend the U.S. Chamber
Foundation Corporate Citizenship Awards Ceremony in Washington, D.C; and
JQ WHEREAS, these ceremonies provide an opportunity to share City of Carlsbad programs
11 and gain exposure to best business practices from across the nation; and
12 WHEREAS, there are no direct costs borne by the City of Carlsbad associated with the
travel or the event; and
WHEREAS, travel, lodging and conference fees, totaling less than $1500, will be
reimbursed by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.

j7 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
18 1. The above recitations are true and correct.
1^ 2. The out-of-state travel is hereby authorized in accordance with city policy, for
20 the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to attend the U.S. Chamber Foundation
Corporate Citizenship Awards Ceremony in Washington, D.C. on October 6, 2015.
