RESOLUTION NO. 2015-296
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING CERTAIN CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS TO
FILE A WRITIEN ARGUMENT IN SUPPORT OF ORDINANCE NO. CS-
283, PROPOSING THE ADOPTION OF THE AGUA HEDIONDA SOUTH
SHORE SPECIFIC PLAN
WHEREAS, an Election is to be held in the City of Carlsbad, California on Tuesday,
Fe bruary 23, 2016, for the purpose of submitting the following question:
Yes 0 Shall Ordinance No. CS-283 of the Carlsbad City Council
No 0
adopting the Agua Hedionda South Shore Specific Plan (203.4
acres east of the 1-5 freeway between the Agua Hedionda
Lagoon and Cannon Road), which designates 21.6 acres of
additional open space, for a total of 176.7 acres of open
space for public access, preservation of natural habitat, and
agriculture, along with development of 585,000 square feet
of visitor-serving commercial uses on 26.7 acres be adopted?
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council authorizes the following City Council members:
Mayor Matt Hall Mayor ProTem Keith Blackburn
Council Member Michael Schumacher
Councjl Member Lorraine Wood Council Member Mark Packard
to file a written argument in support of the ordinance as specified above, not to exceed 300
words, accompanied by the printed name(s) and signature(s) of the author(s) submitting it,
in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 3, Division 9 of the Elections Code of the State of

California and to change the argument by the due date determined by the City Clerk in
conjunction with the County of San Diego Registrar of Voters and to be published on the City
website, after which no arguments for or against the ordinance may be submitted to the City
Clerk.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
