2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,

CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE UPDATED ALLOCATION OF FUNDING
FOR YEAR ONE OF THE BODY WORN CAMERAS CONTRACT
4 AWARDED TO TASER INTERNATIONAL, INC VIA AB #22,306.

WHEREAS,the City Council concurs that it is in the public interest to update first year
6
7 allocation for funding of the body worn camera program.
8 NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,
9 as follows that:

1.The above recitations are true and correct.

2.The Carlsbad Police Department will allocate $128,323.44 from the department's
12
13
California Board of State and Community Corrections (AB109) police grant allocation
14 to purchase body worn cameras.Use of these grant funds to make this purchase has
15 been approved by the County Chiefs and Sheriff Association, the governing body for
16 how this money is to be used.As part of the contract with TASER International, Inc.,
17 the cameras will be replaced every two years at no additional cost.

3.The Carlsbad Police Department will allocate $127,897.44 in the first year for the cost
19
20 of video storage, maintenance and warranty.This money will come from a budget
21 enhancement starting in Fiscal Year 2016-17.

1 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of
2 Carlsbad on the 12th of July, 2016, by the following vote to wit:
