RESOLUTION NO. 3 34
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD HOUSING AND
REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE AN EXTENSION OF A
MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CARLSBAD
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND INTERFAITH HOUSING
ASSISTANCE CORPORATION FOR THE MANAGEMENT AND
MAINTENANCE OF THE TYLER COURT APARTMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has a significant need for affordable housing throughout the
community as set forth in both its Housing Element of the General Plan and the City’s federally-
required Consolidated Plan; and
WHEREAS, on September 30, 1999, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Carlsbad
purchased the Tyler Court Senior Apartment Complex for the purpose of providing permanent
affordable housing for very low and extremely low income senior citizens in Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, on September 30, 1999 the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Carlsbad
executed a Management Agreement with Interfaith Housing Assistance Corporation for the
management and maintenance of the Tyler Court Senior Apartments; and
WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Commission seeks to extend the Management
Agreement with Interfaith Housing Assistance Corporation for the management and maintenance of
the Tyler Court Senior Apartments. .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Housing and Redevelopment
Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The Housing and Redevelopment Commission hereby authorizes the Executive Director of the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency to execute an Extension to the
Management Agreement to retain the services of Interfaith Housing Assistance Corporation for the management and maintenance of the Tyler Court Apartments,
substantially in the form presented to the Commission and subject to prior approval
by the City Attorney.

3. The Housing and Redevelopment Commission hereby authorizes the Agency Executive Director to extend the Management Agreement for one additional one (1)
year period or parts thereof, based upon a review of satisfactory performance and the
City’s needs and subject to the approval by the City Attorney.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a special meeting of the Housing and
Redevelopment Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the third day of October,
2000, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Nygaard and Kulchin
