RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CARLSBAD MTJNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT ORDER
ING, CAI;LING, PROVIDING FOR , AND GIVING
NOTICE OF A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN IIPilOVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 2 OF SAID
DISTRICT ON TUESDAY, NOVEMEBR 19, 1957,
FOR TKE PURPOS OF SUBMITTING TO THE
QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT A PROPOSITION OF INCUFUUNG
BONDED INDEBTEDNESS AND ISSUING BONDS
OF SAID DISTRICT FOR SAID IMPROVE~NT
DISTRICT.
The Board of Directors of CARtsBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT does hereby re-
solve, determine and order as follows:
Section 1. That this Board deems it necessary that the CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT incur a bonded indebtedness by the issuance of
bonds of the district for Improvement District No. 2 thereof in the amount of
nine hundred thousand dollars ($90,000) for the purpose of
the acquisition and construction of water
transmission pipe lines with appurtenances
and appurtenent works from the existing
facilities of the Carlsbad Municipal Water
District located along the El Camino Real
Road to points within the Carlsbad Municipal Water District covering generally, the most
southerly 18,OOO feet of Carlsbad Municipal
Water District, including works, machinery
and other property (including lands and
easements) useful and necessary to store,
convey, supply and otherwise make use of
water for the lands and inhabitants within a portion of said Carlsbad Municipal Water
District, and including expenses of all
proceedings for the authorization, issuance
and sale of the bonds.
Section 2.
portion of said district which will be benefited by the accomplishment of said purpose hereinabove stated and by incurring said bonded indebtedness constitutes and is known as “IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 2 OF CI1RLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATEK DISTRICT”
and that a map showing the exterior boundaries of said improvement district is on file
with the Secretary of said distric%, which map shall govern for all details as to
the extent of the improvement district.
That, following a hearing thereon as by law provided, this Board
has determined, and does hereby determihe and state, that the

the maximum term permitted by law, to wit: forty (40) years from the date of said
bonds or each series thereof, but said bonds may be made to mature within a lesser
number of years; that the maximum rate of interest to be paid thereon shall not
exceed the maximum rate permitted by law, to wit: five per cent (5%) per annum, pay-
able semiannually, except that interest for the first year shall be payable at the
end of said year, the actual rate or rates to be determined at the time of the sale
or sales thereof.
That the maximum term which the bonds proposed to be issued, or any
portion or series thereof‘, shall run before maturity shall not exceed

That a special election be held, and the same is hereby called to be
held, in said Improvement District No. 2 of Carlsbad Municipal Water
on the 19th day of November, 1957 for the purpose of submitting to the qualified
voters of said improvement district the proposition of incurring the said indebt-
edness and issuing bonds of said district for said improvement district, in the
amount hereinabove set forth, and for the purpose
That if the proposition for the incurring of said indebtedness so submitted receives
the requisite number of votes, to wit, more than two-thirds of the votes of the
qualified voters voting at such election, bonds of said district for said improvement
district in not exceeding the principal amount hereinabove stated shall be issued and sold for the purpose hereinabove set forth. Said bonds will be bonds of the
district, but taxez for the payment of such bonds and the interest thereon shall be levied exclusively upon the taxable property within said Improvement District No. 2 of CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WAmR DISTRICT all as provided in the Municipal Water
District Act of 19U, as amended.
Section 5. .of the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from
said time until seven o'clock P.M. of the same day, when said polls shall be closed,
except as provided in Section 5734 of the Elections Code of the Sate of California.

INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS
To vote on any measure, stamp a cross ( 4 ) in the voting square after the word
"YES" or after the word nNO1t. All marks, except the cross ( 4 ) are forbidden, and make the ballot void.
If you wrongly stamp, tear, or deface this ballot, return it to the inspector
of election and obtain another.
On absent voter ballots mark a cross ( 4 ) with pen or pencil.

except as otherwise provided in the Municipal Mater District Act of 1911, as amended.
That all particulars not recited in this resolution, said election
shall be held and conducted in accordance with the provisions of
Section u). That the Secretary of this Board shall cause this resolution to be
published once a week for two successive weeks prior to the date of
the election in the CARLSBAD JOURNAL. public places within said Improvement District No. 2 not less than two weeks prior
