HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-10-29; Municipal Water District; Resolution 91RESOLUTION NO. 91 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF WATER SYSTEM FOR INIPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 2, UNIT "C" - PIPELINE - WHEREAS, at 4:OO P. M. on October 28,1958, at the office of the Carlsbad i b- 1 Municipal Water District at 601 Elm Avenue, Carlsbad, California, the time and place fixed for the opening of bids on the construction of water system for Improvement District No. 2, Unit "C", - Epeline, said bids were properly opened, examined and read, and referred to the District's Engineer, Boyle Engineering, for a report on the lowest acceptable bid; and 11 WHEREAS, Boyle Engineering have examined said bids and made a report to the Board; and WHEREAS, this Board determines that it is to the best interests of the Dis- trict to award the contract for the canstruction of Water System for Improvement District No. 2, Unit 'IC*' - Pipeline under Schedule 11 of said contract. NOW THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND AWARD AS FOLLOWS: I. That the bid of HOOD CONSTRUCTION COMPANY in the amount of $44, 397. 80, is the lowest bid for said construction of the Water System for Improve- ment District No. 2, Unit "C" - Pipeline under Schedule 11, and that the bid of -WILSON PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION CO. in the amount of $46, 812.70 is the next lowest bid for the construction of said Unit "CTi - Pipeline. - 2. That the bid of HOOD CONSTRUCTION COMPANY in the amount of $44, 397.8Q is hereby accepted, and the contract awarded to HOOD CONSI'%UCTION -1 COMPANY. 3. That all other bids are rejected and the deposit made by said bidders is ordered returned to said bidders, with the exception of the bid of WILSON PIPE LINE CONSTRUCTION CO. , which is the next lowest and best bid, which shall be rejected and returned when HOOD CONSTRUCTION COMPANY executes the contracts and qualifies. necessary contracts on behalf of and in the name of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District. 4.
