HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-04-17; Municipal Water District; Resolution 217RESOLUTION NO. 217 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT ORDERING THAT NO ELECTION SHALL BE HELD IN DIVISION NO. 3 OR DIVISION NO. 4 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT IN ACCORD- ANCE WITH DIVISION 20, SECTION 71510 OF THE WATER CODE AND DIRECTING SECRETARY OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, TO REQUEST THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY TO APPOINT FRED W. MAERKLE AS DIRECTOR FROM DIVISION NO. 3 AND DqNALD A. MAC LEOD AS DIRECTOR, FROM DIVISION NO. 4 OF SAID WATER DISTRICT. WEREAS, the sixty fifth day prior to the day fixed for the district general elections has passed; and WEREAS, only one person has been nominated to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal Water District from Division No. 3 and Division No. 4; and WHEREAS, FRED W. MAERKLE and DONALD A. MAC LEOD are the only persons who have been nominated to serve as members of the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal Water District from Division No. 3 and Division No. 4, respectively, of said District; and WHEREAS, Division 20, Section 71510 of the Water Code requires that the Board of Directors of the Water District shall pass a resolution that an election shall not be held when only one person has been nominated to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of Water District within any one division. NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT DOES HEREBY RESOLVE As FOLLOWS: 1. That an election shall not be held in Division No. 3 and Division No. 4 of Carlsbad Municipal Water District on June 4, 1968. 2. That the Secretary of this Board is hereby directed to enter this resolution in full in the minutes of this Board. 3. That the Secretary of this Board is directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors of San Diego County with the request that the said Board of Supervisors appoint FRED 8. MAERKLE to the office of a member of the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal Water District from Division No. 3, and DONALD A. MAC LEOD to the office of a member of the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal Water District f from Division No. 4, in accordance with Division 20, Section 71510 of the Water Code.
