HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-02-18; Municipal Water District; Resolution 245RESOLUTION NO. 245 -- A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT URGING SUPPORT OF PREPRINT ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 31. WHEREAS, Section 3605 of Government Code of State of California defines a "public officer" as including any officer of a public agency; and WHEREAS, it is deemed that the definition as now set forth in the Government Code may discourage the most able and competent persons from running for or holding local government offices because of the present provisions of financial disclosure; and WHEREAS, Preprint Assembly Bill No. 31 would amend the ...- law so that "public officer" does not include any person whose gross income from a public agency does not exceed Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) per year. WHEREAS, the Board of Directors deems it to the best interests of CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT and the taxpayers and voters of the said District to support Pre- print Assembly Bill No. 31. NOW THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS : L 1. 2. The Board of Directors of CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT does hereby support the adoption of Pre- print Assembly Bill No. 31 and urge all members of the State Legislature to support the adoption of said Bill, That the Secretary of CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT and of the Board of Directors thereof is authorized and directed to disseminate this - 1- -.- -- information to appropriate parties.
