RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT AMENDING THE VACATION ACCUMULATION POLICY OF THE DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Costa Real Municipal
Water District has determined that it is in the best interests of
the District and District employees to encourage employees to
take adequate vacations; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the District to establish
a master calendar of vacations in order to minimize disruption of
District functions; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the District and its
employees to prevent 'excessive accumulation of earned vacation
leave ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of
the Costa Real Municipal Water District:
1. Section 5.4 of the Administrative Code of the Costa Real
Municipal Water District is hereby amended to read as provided in
Attachment A.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 20th day of November, 1985.

Sec. 5.3. Overtime (continued)
3. An employee who is called back as defined
above, shall receive a minimum of two hours
time at the rate of time and one-half pay for regular overtime, or double time on Sundays or holidays. In lieu of pay, compensatory time
may be accumulated to a maximum of forty (40)
hours per fiscal year. An employee not using
the compensatory time shall be paid for the time prior to the end of the fiscal year on June 30.
Overtime work in conjunction with regular scheduled work day, either beginning earlier or working past normal scheduled work day, is not call back work.
Sec. 5.4. Vacation Leaves. Vacation time is intended to
provide a rest and change for the employee. For this reason, all employee's are encouraged to take at least five (5) consecutive work days of their
annual vacation time during each year of their employment.
At the discretion of the General Manager as to
setting the period of time to be taken for any
vacation leave, all full-time employees will be
granted such leave with pay under the following conditions:
(a) Earninqs Rates After completion of
employment of the first year, employee shall be granted vacation time of 80 hours
for the previous 12 months. The employee then begins earning vacation at the rate
of 3.08 hours per pay period. After the
completion of five continuous years of employment, employee shall be granted vacation time at the rate of 4.62 hours per pay period.
After completion of 15 continuous years of
employment, employee shall be granted vacation at the rate of 6.15 hours per pay period.

(b) Carryover of Unused Vacation Hours Vacation time accumulation as of January 1 each year may be permitted as follows:
Employees with less than 5 years service---- 160 hours
Employees with 5 but less than 15 years service---- 240 hours
Ehployees with 15 or more years of service---- 3 2 0 hours
Effective January 1, 1987, and each January 1
thereafter, vacation time in excess of the above-mentioned hours will be eliminated.
(c) Schedulinq Prior to January 1 each year,
employees shall schedule their vacation
times for the next year with their supervisors. These vacation schedules
will be consolidated into one summary
schedule which the General Manager shall approve .
Any and all changes in scheduled vacation times must be requested by the employee in writing 5 days prior to reserved timeandmust
have approval of the General Manager.
(d) Rate of Pay Pay for vacation leave shall be
at the monthly rate currently paid the employee at the time the vacation is taken. Service shall be deemed to be continuous if employment by the District has not been
interrupted for a period in excess of 30 days, or where the District has terminated an
employee due to lack of work and later rehired the employee.

District and of the Board of Directors thereof, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the Board of Directors of said District at a regular meeting of the Board held on the 20th day of November, 1985, and that it was adopted by the following vote:
