RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT DELETING THE POSITIONS OF CONTROLLER AND ACCOUNT CLERK I11 AND CREATING THE POSITION
OF ACCOUNTANT AND ADDING A JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THAT POSITION
WHEREAS, the District has experienced a reorganization of
staff as a result of the resignation of William C. Meadows, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the District to
delete the positions of Controller and Account Clerk 111, and
' WHEREAS, the reorganization has created responsibilities
which can best be performed by a professional accountant
position, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend Article 3 Section 3.1 and
Article 4 Section 4.4; and add a job description according to the
Exhibits attached;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA REAL
MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE that
the Administrative Code is hereby amended in the attached
exhibits, to be effective November 24, 1986.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 19th day of November,
1986.

Under the guidance of the General Manager, serves as the District Accountant. Performs professional accounting work, maintaining the financial and budgetary records of the District, and directing the related data processing
functions.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Supervise the work of accounting clerks; monitor and review
the preparation and processing of accounts payable, job cost, payroll, State and Federal tax reports; maintain the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, such as cash receipts, inventory and fixed assets; develop and implement accounting
procedures and supporting documentation as needed; assist with training of staff; prepare and analyze various financial
statements, reports and reconciliations; coordinate accounting activities with other departments and personnel; compile financial data and prepare the annual budget with input from other departments and guidance from the General
Manager; prepare records for annual audit and assist auditors as required: handle investment of funds; complete special assignments and reports as required by the General Manager.
DESIRABLE QUALIPICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or
university with a degree in accounting, business administration, or related field .
Experience: Minimum of five years responsible business experience in accounting and
data processing.
Knowledge and Knowledge of financial and c~st Abilities: accounting principles and terminology;
ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions; working knowledge of current district computer system; ability to understand, interpret, and apply policies and procedures; ability to establish and maintain effective organizational relationships with district staff and the public.
