The Carlsbad City L>lanning Commission of the CiLy of Carlsbad docs
hereby rcsolwe as follows:
?JHHi?,*S, the Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad did on the
13th day of September, 1960, adopt Wesolution of Intention No, 16 to amend
0rdina.nce No. 9060, Article 7, Section 706; and
dH~kX5~c,S9 ,thz Planning Commission did on the 27th day of September,
1960, hold a duly advertised public hearing as prescribed by law to consider
the amendment to 0rdi.nance 9040, ixticlc? 7, Section 706 by reducing square
footage per dwclling unit as fO~1ObJS~
T.he minimum lat area per dw1l.i.ng'unit .in tho it-3 Zone shall bc
not less than eight hundred and fifty squafe feet provided that
for eFch roon used for sleeping purposes and not contained in a
dwelling unit as defined in this ordinance, nat less thm Eo-ur
hundred fifty square feet of lot area shall be required.<?
IJOi.!', THEMFORE, a motion w~s duly made that the above described
amendrncnt be madc for the following reasons:
1. That the normal setbacks, ?elcentage of ground covcrpgc,
and maximum height limitations still api>ly, as see forth in
ordinznce 8060, and that by reducing the number of square feet
per dwelling unit from 12GO sq. ft. t.0 850 sqQ ft. will merely
increase the economic usu of E-3 property,' end thereby make the
land's use more cmensur8,te with the incresszd land valUcSa
THdREFOIIE, after a roll cz.11 vote of the Conmissioners, the notion
passed by the following vote, to wit:
