A RESsLUTION OF THE CARLSBAD CJTY PLANNING
COMMISSION RECOMMENDING RECLASSIFICATION OF
CERTAIN DESIGNATED PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD FROM R-3 to G-i: BUT BE;N'TIZNG REGhASSIFI-
CATION FROM R-1 to G-2.
The Carlsbad City Planning Cornmission of the City of Carlsbad do
by resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, there was filed with this Commission on the 11th day of
1961, an application by Jane Sonneman requesting a change of zone clas:
cation under the provisions of Ordinance No. 9060; and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Planning Commission did on the 12th
September, l96l., hold a duly advertised pubiic hearing as prescribed b;
consider reclassification from Zone R-3 (Multiple Family Residential)
(General Commercial) and from Zone R-l (Single Family Residential) tc
of the property described as:

16 parcels that was a freeway opening and closed, Page 32, Book 203
Parcels 7,8 and 9 and that portion of land lying easterly of above
of the Assessor's Map of San Diego County;

WHEREAS* the Carlsbad City Planning Commission has found the fc
ing facts to exist:
1. That the property is on a commercial street.
2. That the property directly across the street is C-2 and the gene
tre.nd is towards commercial use.
3. That it is adjacent to the freeway and the best use to which this
land could be put.
4, That public convenience and necessity dictates that it be zoned
commercially.
I NOW r THEREFORE 1 BE IT RESOLVED, that the reclassification 0:

Parcel 8 excepting a LO' strip 120' long adjacent to and easterly of asses
Parcel 7, extending to Grand Avenue and the southerly 50' of assessor'
Parcel 7, is hereby recommended to be approved and that reclassificat
31 11 of the remainder of subject property be. denied;
32 11 AND FINALLY RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwar
li to the City Council for its attention in the manner prescribed by law.
