widening of Interstate-5 will have on the community, and it
the feeling of the staff that the timing may not be appropril
to insure the success of the proposed development.
5. The staff at the present time cannot establish a need fo
another service station. This is shown by a study which com
total capacity of the service stations of Carlsbad against w
they are actually pumping. The study shows an average capab
of 87,500 per month. The average number of gallons pumped p
month is 40,300 gallons during summer months and 33,300 gall
per month during the fall, winter and spring months. This s
indicates that the present stations are pumping 43% of their
potential, and this does not indicatea need for more station
