HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-07-09; Planning Commission; Resolution 10844,- I. 2 3 4 5 6 NG COMMISSION RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING THE AMENDMENT OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY REVISING SECTION 21.44.210 AS IT PERTAINS TO JNDUSTRIAL) ZONE, ACCORDING TO THE PROVISIONS OF TITLE 21 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE. PARKING STANDARDS FOR USES IN THE P-M (PLANNED CASE NO: ZCA-63 WHEREAS, a Resolution of Intention was passed to hold one 71 public hearing to consider the amendment of the Carlsbad Munic' 8 P-M Zone; and 9 Code by Amending Section 21.44.210 entitled Off Street Parking 10 WHEREAS, notice of hearing to amend the Zoning Code, pursl 3.2 WHEREAS, the purpose was to modernize and update the exis. 11 Zoning Code of the City of Carlsbad; and 13 18 Planning Commission; and I? and the Affidavit of Publication is on file in the records of I l6 paper of general circulation published in said City of Carlsbat I!3 entitled "Zoning", was published in the Carlsbad Journal, a nev l4 to the provisions of Title 21 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code of the Municipal Code. Said wording to read: 2o supplement in said regulations; That of amending Section 21.41 I.g WHEREAS, the purpose was to consider the change, amendmeni 21 22 OFF-STREET PARKING IN P-M ZONE: Every parking area in the P-M Zone shall be governed by the following provisions in addition to those covered in Section 21.44.160: 23 24 25 26 (1) Off-street parking shall be provided at the ratio of one space for each 400 square feet of building area; (2) No parking shall be allowed in a front, side or rear yard adjoining a street, or within ten feet of an interior side or rear property line; 27 28 (3) The Commission may, by resolution, allow up to 25% of the total required parking spaces to be reduced in size to accomodate compact cars provided that: 29 II a) Compact car spaces are located in separate parking aisles from standard sized spaces; 30 31 b) Aisles for compact car spaces are clearly marked with permanent pole signs denoting "COMPACT CARS ONLY I' ; I 32 ”a 1 2 3 4 5 0 0 I I I c) Compact car spaces shall be located in close proximity to the facility which they serve so as’to encourage their maximum usage; d) Compact car sp.aces must be a minimum width of 7.5 feet and a minimum length of 15 feet; WHEREAS, a public hearing was duly and properly held at tk 6 time and place specified in said notice, on July 9, 1974; and 7 WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Planning Commission, the al: 8 ed in the Carlsbad Zoning Code. 9 mentioned changes in the Zoning Code should be hereinafter incl 10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission 11 3.2 the City of Carlsbad, California, and it does hereby find that P-M (Planned Industrial) Zone. 19 Section 21.44.210 pertaining to Parking Standards for uses in I 18 to the existing Carlsbad Zoning Code the amendment or addition 17 such steps as may be necessary to change by ordinance or amendr: 16 Commission does hereby recommend to the City Council that it t: 15 general welfare of the inhabitants of said City, and the Plann- 14 in the Zoning Code and that the same will be for the benefit ar 13 public necessity, convenience and general welfare require the ( 20 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the ( 21 following vote, to wit: 22 of Carlsbad Planning Commission held on July 9, 1974, by the 23 24 25 2 6.
