HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-01-14; Planning Commission; Resolution 1126w 1 2 3 4 0 a PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1126 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL, ADOPTION OF GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 30 ADOPTING GEOLOGIC AND SEISMIC SAFETY ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD. 5 I/ 6 January, 1975, hold a duly noticed Pub1 ic hearing as prescribe 9 UHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 14th day of 8 as foIIows: 7 The City of Carlsbad Planning Commission does hereby resc 10 by law, to consider recommending to the City Council the adopt 11 of the Geologic and Seismic Safety Element of the City of Carl 12 General Plan, consisting of a text and related maps (Exhibit 1 13 dated January 15, 1975, to read as follows: 14 15 16 17 18 19 A General Plan Amendment of the City of Carlsbad to be called the Geologic and Seismic Safety Element, which consists of an overall goal, objectives, policies, guidelines and action programs that: 1) Identify Geologic and Seismic problems in the study area; and, 2) Introduce additional mitigative planning measures into the development review practices of the City. 20 NHEREAS, said Amendment has met the requirements of the I 21 of Carlsbad Environmental Protection Ordinance of 1972; and, 22 WHEREAS, at said Public Hearing the Planning Commissionel 23 and reasons to exist which make said amendment necessary to cI 26 WHEREAS, said Planning Commission did find the following 25 individuals and parties who desired to be heard; and, 24 received the recommendations, objections and comments of all 27 I out the intent of the General Plan: 28 29 30 31 1) The adoption of the Geologic and Seismic Safety Elel is essential for the General Plan to be comprehensi and effective; and, 2) The Geologic and Seismic Safety Element meets the Requirements of State of California law relating to Seismic Safety; and 9 I 32 L c I/ 0 e II II ll 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 3) The Geologic and Seismic Safety Element provides the City of Carlsbad with a comprehensive document identifying the Seismi-c and Geologic phenomena of the City. NOM, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said Amendment to thc General Plan, adopting the Geologic and Seismic Safety Elemeni consi.sting of a text and related Maps (Exhibit A), dated Janu, 15> 1975 we hereby recommended to be approved; .. AND FINALLY BE IT RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolutic with the attached exhibits, be forwarded to the City Council 1 its attention in the manner prescribed by law.
