PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1177
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL, ADOPTION OF GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 35, ADOPTING THE SCENIC HIGHNAYS ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
The City of Carlsbad Planning Commission does hereby resoll
as follows:
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 23rd day of Ju'
1975, hold a duly noticed public hearing as prescribed by law,
consider recommending to the City Council the adoption of the
Scenic Highways Element of the General Plan of the City of Carl
consisting of a text to read as follows:
A General Plan Amendment of the City of Carlsbad to
be called the Scenic Highways Element, which consists
of goals, policies, and action programs that establish
a Scenic Highways Program for the City with the
~ ul'itimate objective of the protection and enhancement
of prime scenic and historical areas along designated
routes within the Cit,y.
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, and at subsequent public
hearings on August 13 and August 27, 1975, the Planning Commis-
sioners received the recommendations, objections and comments I
all individuals and parties who desired to be heard; and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission did find the following
facts and reasons to exist which make said Amendment necessary
carry out the intent of the General Plan:
I (1) Adoption, and implementation, of the Scenic Highways
Program, as established in the Scenic Highways Eleme
will help protect and enhance the scenic and histori
areas adjacent to selected routes within the City; a
(2) The Scenic Highways Element meets all requirements o I
State law.
~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said Amendment to the

recommended to be approved; and 3
a text (Exhibit A, dated revised August 21, 1975), is hereby 2
General Plan, adopting the Scenic Highways Element, consisting
4 FINALLY BE IT RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution, wi

the attached Exhibit, be forwarded to the City Council for its
attention in the manner prescribed by law.
7 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
8

Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad, held on the 27th
day of August, 1975, by the following vote, to wit:
10 AYES: Commissioners Jose, L’Heureux, Packard, Dominguez an Watson 11
12 il NOES: None
ABSENT: Commission Fikes 13
