PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1234 -
RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, CONCERNING THE GENERAL PLAN CON-
FORMITY OF A PROJECT TO INSTALL WHEEL CHAIR RAMPS IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA.
WHEREAS, Section 65402 of the California Government Code
requires that prior to constructing any public structure or buil
ing, the Planning Commission must report on the conformity of SE
construction with the City's adopted General Plan; and 8

WHEREAS, the City Engineer has submitted plans to the Plar
ning Commission for the installation of wheel chair ramps in thc
downtown area for a report on General Plan conformity; and
WHEREAS, the project has complied with the requirements oi
the Carlsbad Environmental Protection Ordinance of 1972; and
WHEREAS, the adopted General Plan states that residents
should be provided with essential public facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Circulation Element of the General Plan statc
that safe and convenient pedestrian access should be provided tc
major activity centers; and l81I WHEREAS, the proposed project will provide wheel chair ra: 19

for the handicapped public;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Comqission
the City of Carlsbad as follows:
A) That the above recitations are true and correct.
B) That the proposed installation of wheel chair ramps is
consistent with the Carlsbad General Plan.
