AND GARFIELD STREET. APPLICANT: CITY OF CARLSBAD THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, CONCERN- FOR THE REMODELING OF AN EXISTING RESI- CASE NO.: CUP-118 10 WHEREAS, a verfied application for a certain property, t 11 wit: 12 All of Block 3 of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California, according to map thereof No. San Diego County, February 15, 1894 13 14 775, filed in the Office of County Recorder of 15 16 17 18 20 19 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 has been filed with the City of Carlsbad and referred to the Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a request as provided by Title 21 of the "Carlsbad Municipal Code"; an WHEREAS, the applicant has complied with the Public Facility Element of the City of Carlsbad and has provided the necessary information which ensures Public Facilities will be available and current with need; and WHEREAS, the subject application has complied with the requirements of the City of Carlsbad "Environmental Protectio Ordinance of 1972" because a Negative Declaration of Environ- mental Impact was prepared by the County in Connection with its administration of the Community Development Block Grant Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE Planning Commissic l5 18 (B) That the Planning Commission makes the following findin! l7 (A) That the above recitations are true and correct. l6 of the City of Carlsbad as follows: of fact: 19 20 21 22 23 (1) The requested use is necessary and desirable for the development of the Community, is essentially ir harmony with the various elements and objectives 01 the General Plan, and is not detrimental to existir uses or to uses specifically permitted in the zone in which the proposed use is to be located because (a) The City has had requests from several civic groups for a place in which to hold meetings; 24 25 (b) The General Plan Parks and Recreation Element recognizes the site as a potential parksite; and 26 I1 27 28 (c) The proposed public assembly building is a complementary use; and (d) The intensity of the proposed use is compatib with the intensity of existing and permitted uses in the neighborhood. ll -7- ,.
