PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1359
RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, CONCERNING A
SITE DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR A SHOPPING CENTER
ON 11.6 ACRE SITE.
CASE NO. : SDP 77-2
APPLICANT: SANTA ANITA DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
WHEREAS, a verified application for a certain property
wit:
That portion of Tract 240 of Thum Lands, in the
City of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of
California, according to the Map thereof No. 1681,
filed in the office of the County Recorder of said
San Diego County, December 9, 1915, located in
Assessor's Book 205, Page 210, Parcel 07
has been filed with the City of Carlsbad and referred to the
Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a reque
as provided by Title 21 of the "Carlsbad Municipal Code;" ani
WHEREAS, this matter was considered by the Planning
Commission on April 13, 1977; and
WHEREAS, at said meeting the Planning Commission founi
the following facts and reasons to exist:
1) The proposed development is compatible with surrounding 1
uses because:
a) Proper vehicular access and traffic controls are beir

b) The project area is separated topographically from tk
residential areas to the east, south and west; and
c) The design of this development will be consistent wit
the shopping center to the north being developed by t

2) The project has complied with the requirements of the Cai
Environmental Protection Ordinance of 1972 because:
a) An Environmental Impact Report (EIR-171) was certific

3) The application is consistent with applicable City Public
Facilities Policies and Ordinances because:
