RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, CONCERNING A CONDITIONAL
USE PERMIT TO PROVIDE FOR NEW COl!4MUNITY ACTIVITIES
AND PARKING FACILITIES AT THE HARDING STREET COM-
MUNITY CENTER ON PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE EAST AND
WEST SIDES OF HARDING STREET BETWEEN OAK STREET AND
ELM AVENUE.

WHEREAS, a verified application for a certain property,

Parcel "A" of Parcel Map No. 1007, in the City of
Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California,
according to Map recorded in the office of the County
Recorder September 25, 1972 as File No. 256552, being
a portion of Tract 115 of Carlsbad according to Amended
Map of the Town of Carlsbad, Map No. 775, filed in the
office of the County Recorder of San Diego County,
February 15, 1894.
That portion of lots 17 to 24 inclusive in Block 86 of
the Town of Carlsbad, in the County of San Diego, State
of California, according to Map thereof No. 535, filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Diego County
May 2,1888; together with a portion of Tract 115 of the
town of Carlsbad, in the County of San Diego, State of
California, according to Map thereof No. 775, filed in
the office of the County Recorder of San Diego County, February 15, 1894.

4) The street system serving the proposed use is adequate tc
properly handle all traffic generated by the proposed USI because:
a) The existing streets and alleys are designed for hig:
volumes of traffic tan will be generated by the acti-

will occur at nonpeak hours and, therefore, have lit1
impact on the circulation systems.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commissic
the City of Carlsbad as follows:
A) That the above recitations are true and correct.
B) That in view of the findings heretofore made and consider
the applicable law, the decision of the Planning Cornmissj is to approve the Conditional Use Permit (CUP-l28(A), SUI
to the following conditions:
1) The approval is granted for the land described in the apy
cation and attachments thereto, and as shown on the plot
submitted labeled Exhibit B, dated June 16, 1977.
2) Any additional expansion of the existing facilities and/c
facilities approved herein will require an amendment to t CUP.
3) The Parks and Recreation Director shall schedule events t
occur in a sequence or combination that will not exceed a
able parking based on Title 21, Section 21.44.130(26).
4) Review of this CUP shall be made by the Planning Commissi one-year from the date of approval. If the Planning Com- mission determines additional review is warranted after t one-year period a review schedule shall be established.
5) A solid masonry wall shall be provided along the parking
property lines adjacent to residentially zoned property. walls shall be 6 feet high, except in the required front where they shall not exceed 42 inches.
6) In the event that this property becomes a headquarters fo
City of Carlsbad administrative functions, an amendment t the CUP will be necessary.
