HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-07-27; Planning Commission; Resolution 13899 e 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 I1 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1389 RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, MAKING A FIND- ING OF GENERAL PLAN CONSISTENCY FOR THE TRANSFER OF LAND TO BE USED FOR PUBLIC BASEBALL FIELDS. CASE NO: PCD- 2 (A) APPLICANT : CARLSBAD UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Unified School District intends to transfer certain property to the City of Carlsbad; and WHEREAS, the State Law requires the Planning Commission the effective jurisdiction to make a finding of General Plan consistency for any such transfer of lands; and WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Unified School District has reques the Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad to make such determination; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission considered said request at their meeting of July 27, 1977. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commissic of the City of Carlsbad as follows: A) That the above recitations are true and correct. B) That the transfer of property as shown on the attached Exhibit "A" for the purpose of maintaining community basc diamonds is consistent with the adopted General Plan of 1 City of Carlsbad for the following reasons: 1) Baseball fields are considered an Open Space use and Open Space uses are consistent within any of the lan use designations of the Land Use Element of the General Plan. 2) The proposed use is provided for within the Parks an Recreation Element of the General Plan. 3) The transfer of land will have no effect on any othe element of the General Plan. xxx 9 e 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City of Carlsbad Planning Commission held on July 27, 1977 by the following vote to wit: AYES : Commissioners' Larson, Rombotis, L'Heureux, Watson, Fikes, Jose, Woodward.
