HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-08-10; Planning Commission; Resolution 1394*= % e e 1 2 3 4 5 6 PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1394 RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL FOR CHANGING THE STREET NAME OLIVE DRIVE TO PI0 PIC0 DRIVE IN THE CITY OF CARLSBAD PURSUANT TO CITY COUJ5JCIL POLICY NO. 20. CASE NO. : SNC VI1 APPLICANT: CITY OF CARLSBAD WHEREAS, in accordance with subject policy, a request ' 7 8 change a certain street name, as follows: Olive Drive to Pi0 Pic0 Drive 9 has been filed with the City of Carlsbad and referred to the 10 Planning Commission; and 11 WHEREAS, said request constitutes a legal request as 12 13 provided by City Council Policy Statement No. 20; and ' WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the tenth day l4 of August, 1977, hold a duly noticed public hearing as pre---- 15 scribed by law to consider s.aid,:request; and 16 I? and reasons to exist: 20 relating to the street name change and found the following fi l9 who desired to be heard, said Commission considered all factc 18 considering the testimony and arguments, if any, of all persc 22 1) Streets with the same names and with similar sounding nar 21 make it difficult for emergency vehicles to respond to correct locations. 23 2) Approving the name changes for the conflicting streets w 24 25 3) The name changes will help promote the intent of the Cit street name change policy. 26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT resolved by the Planning Commis 27 of the City of Carlsbad as follows: WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and relieve this situation. 28 ///////////// I v e 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 A) That the above recitations are true and correct B) That in view of the findings heretofore mde and considering the applicable law, the decision of the Planning Camission is to approm the street name change effective inmediately upon City Council approT subject to the following considerations: 1. For all new addressing by the City, the street name change will 1 effective imediately. 2. The City Clerk shall notify all affected public and quasi-public agencies of the change imnediately. The Post Office will be rq to continue dual delivery to both addresses for a period of 18 m 3. All affected street signs will be changed 18 mnths from the effective date of the City Council Resolution.
