PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1412 ~~ ~~
RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, MAKING A FINDING
OF GENERAL PLAN CONSISTENCY FOR THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CHILDREN'S
LIBRARY ON PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE NORTH SIDE
OF ELM AVENUE EAST OF PI0 PIC0 AVENUE, ADJACENT
TO THE EXISTING LIBRARY.
CASE NO: PCD- 11
APPLICANT : CITY OF CARLSBAD
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad intends to purchase propel
for the construction of a children's library; and
WHEREAS, the State Law requires the Planning Commission
the effective jurisdiction to make a finding of General Plan
Consistency for any such purchase of property; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has requested to make
such a determination; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission considered said reques.
at their meeting of October 5, 1977.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commissic
of the City of Carlsbad as follows:
A) That the above recitations are true and correct.
B) That the purchase of property as shown on the attached
Exhibit "A" for the construction of a children's library
is consistent with the General Plan of the City of Carls'
for the following reasons:
1. The General Plan Land Use indicates professional and
low-medium density residential for the area.
2. The Public Facilities Element is to insure that nece
public facilities will be available in connection wi
the development of the city.
3. The purchase of the site will allow the city to fulf
the need for additional library facilities.
4. That the subject site is consistent with the goals o
the General Plan and will be compatible to the surro
land use because of the proximity of the existing li and transportation system of nearness to major stree
bus stops.
