PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1465
A RESOLUTION OF THE CARLSBAD CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR EXPANSION OF
EXISTING PACIFIC TEISEPHONE COMPANY FACILITIES LOCATED
AT 2175 CAMINO VIDA ROBLE
CASE NO.: CUP-154
APPLICANT: Pacific Telephone
WHEREAS, a verified application for certain property,
generally located on the south side of Camino Vida Roble just
west of Yarrow Drive, has been filed with the City of Carlsba
and referred to the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a request
provided in Title 21 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, a Declaration of Negative (Non-Significant)
Environmental Impact has been issued on this project for the
following reasons:
1. The project will involve no grading or alteration of the
existing land form.
2. The expansion is needed to meet future telephone switchi
capacity needs for the area.
3. The project will occur on the already developed portion
the site, and will not affect the presently unimproved a
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 9th day of
August, 1978 hold a duly noticed public hearing as prescribed
law to consider said request; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing of August 9, 1978, and u
hearing and considering testimony and arguments, if any, of a
persons who desired to be heard, said Commission considered a
factors relating to the Conditional Use Permit and found the
following facts and reasons to exist:

1. The Land Use Element of the GEneral Plan states that
a PI (Planned Industrial) land use designation for the
subject property. The plan calls for industrial uses in
these areas, including utilities.
2. The Public Facilities Element of the General Plan states
adequate public services should be available to meet the
needs of existing and future populations of the City.
The proposed project, once completed, will help provide telephone services to the expanding areas of Carlsbad.
3. No additional public facilities will be required to serx
the project.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission by the following roll c
vote recommended APPROVAL OF CUP-154:

ABSTAIN: None
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the above recitatior
are true and correct.
