PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1617
RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD SETTING FORTH ITS FINDING THAT PCD-22, BASED
ON THE SUBMITTED PLANS TO PCD-22 LABELED EXHIBIT A &
B, DATED MARCI-I 20, 1980, ARE IN CONFORMANCE WITH SPECIFIC PLAN 19 (CAR COUNTRY).

WHEREAS, the City council of the City of Carlsbad, did (
the 18th day of January, 1972, adopt Ordinance No. 9288 adop.
ing specific plan for 50 acres of land located east of Inter-
state 5 between Palomar Airport Road and Cannon Road, to wit:
That portion of Lot H of Rancho Agua Hedionda in
the City of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California, according to Partition Map thereof
No. 823, filed in the Office of the County Recorder of said San Diego County; and
WHEREAS, Condition No. 1 of the subject specific plan si
that specific plans for development shall be submitted to tht
City of Carlsbad prior to the construction of any phase of tl
proposed automobile center; and
WHEREAS, Condition No. 4 of subject specific plan state
that city staff shall participate in the overall design of t:
50 acre automobile center; and
WHEREAS, in conformance with the conditions as set fort1
above, a sign plan labeled Exhibit A dated March 20, 1980, a1
a Site Plan labeled Exhibit B, dated March 20, 1980, were
submitted by the applicant to the City of Carlsbad for revie1

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 26th day of
March, 1980 consider the submitted plans of the applicant an1

impact, and it is catagorically exempt from the city's
environmental protection ordinance.

3) The project is consistent with existing development in t immediate area and will not set any undesirable preceder
Conditions
1) Approval is granted for PCD-22 as shown on Planning Com-
mission Exhibits A & B to PCD-22, dated 3/20/80 on file
the Planning Department and incorporated by reference.
Development shall occur substantially as shown on these
exhibits.
2) The subject sign shall be placed on the site so as not I freeway oriented, subject to the approval of the Plannir
Director..
24 3) This determination is based on current city regulations
and policies. The Planning Commission reserves the rig1
to withdraw this finding and review the plans again shol 25 the regulations and policies affecting the subject propt
26 change.
27 4) The applicant shall remove the existing 8' monument sigi from the site immediately upon construction of the
28 approved freestanding sign.
