PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO 1885
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A
STREET NAME CHANGE FROM CEDAR AVENUE TO CHRISTIANSEN
WAY ON PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED NORTH OF GRAND AVElz
BETWEEN OCEAN STREET AND THE AT & SF RAILROAD
APPLICANT: CARLSBAD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
CASE NO: SNC- 17
WHEREAS, in a letter to the City Council, dated October 1,
1981, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce requested that the strc
currently known as Cedar Avenue be renamed Christiansen Way ir
honor of B.M. "Chris" Christiansen; and
WHEREAS, on October 6, 1981, the City Council directed thc
Planning Commission to hold a public hearing to consider said
proposed street name change: and
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Council direction, the Planning
Commission did, on the 28th day of October, 1981, hold a duly
noticed public hearing as prescribed by law to consider said
request: and,
WHEREAS, at said public hearing a staff report was submittc
and all persons desiring to speak on the subject request were
heard. At the conclusion of said hearing, after consideratio:
all evidence presented, the Planning Commission found the
~ following facts and reasons to exist:
1) The proposed street name change would be consistent

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California, held
the 28th day of October, 1981, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES : Chairman Marcus, Camissioners Rxbotis, Fmm, Schlehube
NOES : None.
ABSENT : None,
ABSTAIN: None.
