PLANNING COMMISSION R.ESOLUTION NO. 2427
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
CARLSEAD, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF AN
AMENDMENT TO THE GENERAL PLAN TO ESTABLISH AN ARTS
ELEMENT .
APPLICANT: CITY OF CARLSBAD
CASE NO.: GPA/A 85-1
WHEREAS, a verified application for an amendment to
General Plan designation for an Arts Element, attached as Ex1
"A", dated March 27, 1985, has been filed with the Planning
Commission; and
WHEREAS, said verified application constitute a reg1
for amendment as provided in Title 21 of the Carlsbad Munici]
Code; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did, on the 27th di
March, 1985, hold a duly noticed public hearing as prescribec
law to consider said request;
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and
considering all testimony and arguments, if any, of all persc
desiring to be heard, said Commission considered all factors
relating to the General Plan Amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Plannir
Commission of the City of Carlsbad, as follows:
A) That the above recitations are true and correct.
B) That in view of the findings made and considering the
applicable law, the decision of the Planning Commission
recommend APPROVAL of GPA/A 85-1, as shown on Exhibit "1
dated March 27, 1985.

~ Findings:
~ 1 ) That an Arts Element is necessary and beneficial to the
community.
2) That an Arts Elenent will encourage the public and privi
development of the arts in Carlsbad.
3) An Arts Element will help promote educational opportunil
the arts and increase public interest and awareness.

Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California, helc
the 27th day of March, 1985, by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: None.
