A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A ZONE
CHANGE APPLYING THE BEACH AREA OVERLAY (BAO) ZONE TO
RESIDENTIALLY DESIGNATED PROPERTY LOCATED WEST OF THE
THE NORTH AND AGUA HEDIONDA LAGOON TO THE SOUTH, EXCEPTING
THE VILLAGE mDEVELOPMENT AREA.

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 26th day of 16
provided by Title 21 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code; and I
June, 1985, hold a duly noticed public hearing as prescribed by law

22 relating to the Zone Change; and

25 A) That the above recitations are true and correct.
26 B) That based on the evidence presented at the public hearing, the

2 1) The Beach Area Overlay Zone will preserve the unique qualities

5 developments in the beach area by establishing new standards
6 for density and building heights.

to be reviewed by the City through the site development plan
process.
2) The Beach Area Overlay Zone will promote more compatible

enhance the quality of life in the beach area.

5) This project will not cause any significant environmental
impacts and a Negative Declaration has been issued by the Land
Use Planning Manager on June 11, 1985 and approved by the
Planning Commission on June 26, 1985.
Conditions: /I
14 ll 1) Approval shall be granted for the area shown on Exhibit "3",
dated June 26, 1985, attached hereto, and incorporated

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the

Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on
the 26th day of June, 1985, by the following vote, to wit:
