A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A ZONE
CHANGE FROM C-2-Q (COMMUNITY COMMERCIAL WITH A QUALIFIED
DEVELOPMENT OVERLAY) TO C-I-Q (NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL WITH A QUALIFIED DEVELOPMENT OVERLAY) OM PROPERTY GENERALLY
LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE LA COSTA AVENUE AND RANCHO SANTA FE ROAD INTERSECTION. APPLICANT: CITY OF CARLSBAD

7 11 WHEREAS, a verified application for certain property, to I

9 Lot 249 of Map 7457 La Costa Vale Unit No. 1,

Planning Commission; and 11
has been filed with the City of Carlsbad, and referred to the
12 WHEREAS, said application constitutes a request as

law to consider said request; and 16
August, 1985, hold a duly noticed public hearing as prescribed by 15
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 28th day of 14
provided by Title 21 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code; and
17 WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and

considering all testimony and arguments, if any, of all persons
relating to the Zone Change; and 20
desiring to be heard, said Commission considered all factors
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Planning

A) That the above recitations are true and correct. 23
Commission as follows:
B) That based on the evidence presented at the public hearing, 24
the Commission recommends APPROVAL of ZC-335, based on the 25 following findings and subject to the following condition:

27 1) -The proposed zone change is consistent with the City's General
Plan since the Neighborhood Commercial zone is consistent with 28 and implements the Community Commercial land use designation proposed for the site.

3) The change in zone from Community Commercial to Neighborhood Commercial will lessen the traffic impacts in adjacent
residential areas.
2) The proposed zone change is consistent and compatible with

4) The property is too small in size to accommodate the existing zoning.
5) This action will not cause any significant environmental impacts and a Negative Declaration has been issued by the Land
Use Planning Manager on August 7, 1985 and approved by the Planning Commission on August 28, 1985.

1 ) Approval is granted for 2C-335, as shown on Exhibit "A", dated 9
Condition:
10 August 28, 1985, incorporated by reference and on file in the Land Use Planning Office.
11 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the

the 28th day of August, 1985, by the following vote, to wit: l3
