HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-08-28; Planning Commission; Resolution 2478-* 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 0 0 PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2478 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CAfiSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN FROM RMH (10-20 DU/AC) ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF LA COSTA AVENUE, WEST OF LA CORUNA PLACE APPLICANT: CITY OF CARLSBAD CASE NO.: GPA/LU 85-7 TO RLM (0-4 DU/AC) ON PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED WHEFCEAS, a verified application for an amendment to the 8 9 General Plan designation for certain property located, as shown on Exhibit "A", dated, August 28, 1985, attached and incorporated I 10 11 herein, have been filed with the Planning Commission; and , ~ li I WHEREAS, said verified applications constitute a request ~ 11 I 12 I1 for amendment as provided in Title 21 of the Carlsbad Municipal 13 11 Code; and I WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did, on the 28th day of August, 1-985, hold a duly noticed public hearing as prescribed by 14 15 16 17 law to consider said request; WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and 18 /I considering all testimony and arguments, if any, of all persons i 19 I I'desiring to be heard, said Commission considered all factors 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 relating to the General Plan Amendment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad, as follows: A) That the above recitations are true and correct. B) That in view of the findings made and considering the applicable law, the decision of the Planning Commission is to recommend APPROVAL of GPA/LU 85-7, as shown on Exhibit "A", dated August 28, 1985. //// I //// 28 //// v 0 e I 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Findings z 1) In conjunction with Zone Change 337, eventual development of the property at an intensity of 0-4 du/ac (RLM) would be more compatible with surrounding and future land uses than the existing RMH (10-20 du/ac) land use designation, as stated in the staff report. 2) In conjunction with Zone Change 337, the site is more physically suitable for development at the 0-4 du/ac density range. 3) This action will not cause any significant environmental impacts and a Negative Declaration has been issued by the Land Use Planning Manager on August 10, 1985 and approved by the Planning Commission on August 28, 1985. 9 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the 10 28th day of August, 1985, by the following vote, to wit: 11 Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on th 12 AYES: Chairman Schlehuber, Commissioners: L'Heureux, Marcus, McFadden, Smith, Rombotis & Hall. NOES: None. ABSENT : None.
