PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2534
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A ZONE CODE
AMENDMENT, AMENDING TITLE 21, CHAPTER 21.44, OF THE
CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE, BY THE ADDITION OF SECTIONS
21.44.230 AND 21.44.240 TO RESTRICT DEVELOPMENT ON CERTAIN
OPEN SPACE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE AREAS IDENTIFIED
IN THE GENERAL PLAN AND TO EXCLUDE CONSIDERATION OF OPEN
SPACE LANDS FROM DENSITY CALCULATIONS.
APPLICANT: CITY OF CARLSBAD

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did, on the 22nd day of

1) This Zone Code Amendment will result in better protection of 21 Open Space areas in the City.

2) This amendment will protect the health, safety and welfare of
the citizens because it helps preserve significant environment features which the citizens desire to have protected. The
amendment is, therefore, consistent with the Open Space and 24 Conservation Elements of the General Plan.

This amendment will result in more accurate calculations of
density since nondevelopable areas will not be included.
