PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2535
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF AN
AMENDMENT TO THE TEXT OF THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE
GENERAL PLAN BY THE ADDITION OF WORDING TO RESTRICT
DEVELOPMENT ON CERTAIN OPEN SPACE AREAS AND TO EXCLUDE
CONSIDERATION OF OPEN SPACE LAND FROM DENSITY
CALCULATIONS.

WHEREAS, a verified application for an amendment to the

General Plan Land Use Element Text as shown on Exhibit "A", dated 1
January 22, 1986, attached and incorporated herein, has been filed
10 with the Planning Commission; and
11 WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a request

2) This amendment will protect the health, safety and welfare of
the citizens because it helps preserve significant environmen
features which the citizens desire to have protected. The
amendment is, therefore, consistent with the Open Space and
Conservation Elements of the General Plan.
3) This amendment will result in more accurate calculations of
density since nondevelopable areas will not be included.
