A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF SPECIFIC
PLAN 186(A), TO AMEND EXISTING SPECIFC PLAN 186 TO ALLOW A
FREEWAY-ORIENTED, FREESTANDING SIGN IDENTIFYING TOURIST-
ORIENTED USES ON PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED ON THE
NORTHEAST CORNER OF POINSETTIA LANE AND AVENIDA ENCINAS,
APPLICANT: ECONOMY INNS

I1 WHEREAS, a verified application for certain property, to 7

Lots 3, 4, 5 and 6 of Carlsbad Tract 81-5, in the City of
Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California,
according to the Map thereof, No, 10899 filed in the
Office of the County Recorder, April 11, 1984,

relating to the Specific Plan; and 21
/desiring to be heard, said Commission considered all factors 20

I WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and 18

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Planning

Government Code which regulate the use of Specifc Plans.

2) The environmental effects of this project have already been considered in conjunction with another project and previously certified environmental documents and a Notice of Prior Compliance has been issued by the Planning Director on January 11, 1986 and recommended for approval by the Planning
Commission on January 22, 1986.
Cond it ions :
1 ) Approval is granted for SP-l86(A), as shown on Exhibit "Y" and
"Z", dated January 9, 1986, incorporated by reference and on
file in the Planning Department. All conditions of SP-186
and of Planning Commission Resolution No. 2032 are hereby
incorporated except as modified by this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the

Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on th
5th day of February, 1986, by the following vote, to wit:
