PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2553
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DENYING A SITE
DEVELOPMENT PLAN NO. 8 5-1 7, A REMODEL AND
ADDITION TO AN EXISTING DUPLEX LOCATED AT 2643
OCEAN STREET WITHIN THE BEACH AREA OVERLAY
ZONE.
APPLICANT: BRODINE
CASE NO: SDP 85-17
WHEREAS, a verified application has been filed with the
City of Carlsbad and referred to the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a request
as provided by Title 21 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal code,
the Planning Commission did, on the 28th day of May, 1986, consider
said request on property described as:
Lots 11 and 12 of Block A of Hayes Land Company Addition
Map No. 2, Map 1221 on file with the County of San
Diego;
WHEREAS, at said hearing, upon hearing and considering all
testimony and arguments, if any, of all persons desiring to be
heard, said Commission considered all factors relating to Site
Development Plan No. 85-17.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Planning
Commission of the City of Carlsbad as follows:
(A) That the foregoing recitations are true and correct.
(B) That based on the evidence presented at the public hearing,
the Commission DENIES SDP 85-17, based on the following
findings:

1) The project does not meet the intent of the Beach Area
Overlay Zone to reduce building mass and the amount of
building coverage on site. 1 ////

2 1 The project as proposed does not meet the intent of the Beach
Area Overlay Zone to create buildings that appear to be two
stories or less in height.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on
the 28th day of May, 1986, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Chairman Schlehuber, Commissioners: Marcus,
McFadden, Schramm, Holmes & Hall.
NOES: Commissioner McBane.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTAIN: None.
