A EWOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
A GENERAL PLAN CONSISTENCY DETERMINATION
FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE EXISTING
CARLSBAD BOULEVARD EAST BRIDGE LOCATED
OVER SAN MARCOS CREEK AT THE MOUTH OF
BATIQUITOS LAGOON.
CASE NAME CARLSBAD BOULEVARD EAST
- CASE NO: PCD/GPC 95-01
WHEREAS, a verified application for certain property to wit:
The eastern bridge of Carlsbad Boulevard located over Sara
Ma.rcos Creek at the mouth of Batiquitos Lagoon;
BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
has been filed with the City of Carlsbad and referred to the Planning Commission
WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a request by the (
Carlsbad as provided by Title 2 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code for a Genera
Consistency; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 19th day of April,
consider said reqyest; and
WHEREAS, at said meeting, upon hearing all arguments, if any,
persons desiring to be heard, said Commission considered all factors relating
Planning Commission Determination; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the PI
Commission as follows:
A) That the foregoing recitations are true and correct.
B) That based on the evidence presented at the hearing, the Commission APPR
I PCD/GPC: 95-01, based on the following findings: i

1. The proposed public works project is consistent with the various elements
General Plan because it provides for the replacement and upgrade of an e

public falcility concurrent with the need. The project provides safe
pedestrian, and bicycle traffic flow, a more reliable and aesthetically E
bridge st~mcture, and a reduction in future bridge maintenance measures an

mitigation measures identified in the Final EIR/EIS for BLEP that are ap
to the Project, including but not limited to, noise, air quality, and hazard;
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting
Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 19th day a
1995, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Chairperson Welshons; Commissioners Compas,
Monroy, Nielsen, Noble and Savary.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTAIN: None.
