CASE NAME: CAMINO ENCANTO STREET NAME CHANGE CASE NO.: SNC 97-01 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has filed a verified application with the Ci Carlsbad which has been referred to the Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a request for a street I change as shown on Exhibit “A” dated July 2 , 1997, on file in the Planning Department a provided by City Council Policy Statement No. 20; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 2nd day of July 1997, h duly noticed public hearing to consider said proposed street name change; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all testir and arguments, if any, of all persons desiring to be heard, said Commission considered all fa relating to the street name change. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Plar Commission as follows: A) That the above recitations are true and correct. LL II 23 24 25 26 27 28 B) That based on the evidence presented at the public hearing, the Commi: RECOMMENDS APPROVAL of Street Name Change, SNC 97-01 base the following findings and subject to the following conditions: Findinrrs: 1. In accordance with the General Plan Circulation Element requiring the C maintenance of an official street naming policy which removes conflict, duplication uncertainty, the proposed street name change is necessary to remove the duplicatic the street name, Encanto, thereby avoiding confusion and ensuring timely emerg * J 0 e 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 response. 2. The street name, Camino Pintado, is in conformance with the City Council Policy Nc “Street Naming and Addressing” as indicated below: a) The proposed Spanish street name is consistent with the City’s s designationlist and street classification map in that the subject street is an west oriented, generally curvy street located in the southeast area of Carlsbad; b) The street name is not used at any other location in the City; c) The street name consists of less than 16 letters and spaces. 3. The street name change would not inconvenience existing or future residence sincc street requiring the name change is located in a new residential subdivision currc under construction and no residential structures are addressed on the street. Conditions: 1. The Planning Commission does hereby RECOMMEND APPROVAL of the S Name Change entitled SNC 97-01 - Camino Encanto (Exhibit(s) “A” dated Ju! 1997 on file in the Planning Department and incorporated by this reference, subject tc conditions herein set forth.) Staff is authorized and directed to make or require Developer to make all corrections and modifications to the Street Name Ch: Documents, as necessary to make them internally consistent and in conformity with Council’s final action on the project. Development shall occur substantially as show the approved exhibits.
