A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A
SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN 18
HOLE CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF COURSE WITH CLUBHOUSE
AND PRACTICE FACILITIES ON PROPERTY GENERALLY
LOCATED NORTH OF PALOMAR AIRPORT ROAD AND
EAST AND WEST OF COLLEGE AVENUE IN LOCAL
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT ZONES 5 AND 8.

WHEREAS, The City of Carlsbad Municipal Projects Division, “De7
has filed a verified application with the City of Carlsbad regarding property owned by
of Carlsbad, “Owner”, described as
Approximately 397 acres north of Palomar Airport Road and
west of Palomar Airport including Assessor’s Parcel Numbers
[5,7,11,12,13]
212-041-[12-37]; 212-081-[2-21]; 212-082-[1-10]; 212-201-
(“the Property”); and
WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a request for a Spec
Permit as shown on Exhibit(s) “I” - “JJ” dated April 1, 1998, on file in the F
Department, CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE, SUP 98-02, as provided in I
21.110 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 1st day of April 1998,

~ duly noticed public hearing as prescribed by law to consider said request; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all tes
and arguments, if any, of all persons desiring to be heard, said Commission considered all
relating to the Special Use Permit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the P1

A) That the foregoing recitations are true and correct.
B) That based on the evidence presented at the public hearing, the Corn
APPROVES CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE, SUP 984
on the following findings and subject to the following conditions:
Findings:
1. That golf holes are a compatible recreational use within the floodplain
improvements may be inundated by periodic flooding without adverse impact.
2. That construction of the project will not unnaturally divert floodwaters and '
increase flood hazards in other areas.
Conditions:
1. Staff is authorized and directed to make, or require Developer to make, all COI
and modifications to the Special Use Permit document(s), as necessary, to ma
internally consistent and in conformity with final action on the project. Deve
shall occur substantially as shown in the approved Exhibits. Any proposed deve
