CASE NAME: PINE SCHOOL ACQUISITION CASE NO: PCD/GPC 99-02 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad, “Developer”, has filed a verified ar regarding property owned by the Carlsbad Unified School District., “Owner”, describc 3333 Harding Street (“the Property”); and WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a request for a Commission Determination for General Plan Consistency as shown on Exhibit(s) “, May 19,1999, on file in the Planning Department PINE SCHOOL ACQUISITION Pl 99-02, as provided in Carlsbad Municipal Code Section 2.24.065 and Section 654t California Government Code; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 19th day of Ma consider said request; and WHEREAS, at said hearing, upon hearing and considering all testin arguments, if any, of all persons desiring to be heard, said Commission considered a relating to the Planning Commission Determination of General Plan Consistency; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Commission as follows: A) That the foregoing recitations are true and correct. B) That based on the evidence presented at the hearing, the Commissic DETERMINES that the Pine School Acquisition is consistent with thl Plan and APPROVES PINE SCHOOL ACQUISITION PCD/GP based on the following: * * I 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 Findings: 1. This project is consistent with the goals, objectives, and policies of the City’: Plan in that it ensures and requires the provision of adequate public facil services concurrent with or prior to actual demand. 2. The project is consistent with the Land Use, Open Space and Conservation, and 1 Recreation Elements of the General Plan in that the project satisfies tl objectives, and policies of providing a diversity of land uses, providing for space needs of the citizens, providing a comprehensive park system, p recreational amenities for the citizens, and providing parks prior to, or co with, need as defined by the Growth Management Plan. 3. As provided for in the General Plan, the proposed property acquisition for parkhecreational facility is consistent with the City’s Growth Management Plan will ensure that necessary improvements are provided for in accordance performance standards of Growth Management. 4. That the acquisition of Pine School for Park and Recreation purposes is ide the Parks and Recreation Element of the General Plan.
