A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A
PLANNING COMMISSION DETERMINATION TO SELECT
THE BOUNDARIES OF THE SOUTH CARLSBAD COASTAL
REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA AND APPROVING A
VELOPMENT OF THE PROJECT AREA GENERALLY
BOUNDED BY AGUA HEDIONDA LAGOON ON THE
RELATED PROPERTIES ON THE EAST AND JUST SOUTH
OF PONTO DRIVE ON THE SOUTH.
PRELIMINARY PLAN FORMULATED FOR THE REDE-
NORTH, THE PACIFIC OCEAN ON THE WEST, 1-5 AND
CASENAME: SOUTH CARLSBAD COASTAL REDEVEL-
OPMENT PROJECT AREA

l1 II WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad, has filed a verified application with the C

WHEREAS, on December 8, 1998, as modified and expanded on July
1999, the Carlsbad City Council adopted Resolutions No. 98-409 and 99-265, designatin;
Survey Area for redevelopment study purposes; and
preliminary plan for the redevelopment of the selected project area; and
WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a request for Plann
23 ll Commission to select the project area boundaries (as shown on Exhibit “A” to
24 Preliminary Plan) and adopt the Preliminary Plan for the South Carlsbad Coa!

in the Planning Department, SOUTH CARLSBAD COASTAL REDEVELOPME 26
Redevelopment Project Area, (attached hereto and incorporated by this reference), on
27 11 PROJECT AREA, PCD 99-03, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33322; and
28 /I WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 6th day of October, 19
consider said request; and

WHEREAS, at said hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony :
arguments, if any, of all persons desiring to be heard, said Commission considered all fact
relating to the Planning Commission Determination; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Plann
Commission as follows:
A) That the foregoing recitations are true and correct.
B) That the Commission hereby selects the project area generally bounded
Agua Hedionda Lagoon on the North, the Pacific Ocean on the West, 1-5 2
related properties on the East and just South of Ponto Drive on the South<
shown on the “Project Area Map” attached to the Preliminary Plan
Exhibit “A” and incorporated by reference herein.
C) That based on the evidence presented at the hearing, the Commission herc
APPROVES the Preliminary Plan formulated for the redevelopment of
selected project area.
D) That the Staff is hereby authorized and directed to submit the Prelimin
Plan for the South Carlsbad Coastal Redevelopment Project to the Carlsl
Housing and Redevelopment Commission (Redevelopment Agency) for
preparation of an official redevelopment plan for the South Carlsbad Coa;
Redevelopment Project.
E) That the Planning Director has determined that the Preliminary Plar
exempt from environmental review per Section 15262 of CEQA.
