I PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 5088
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A
PLANNING COMMISSION DETERMINATION OF GENERAL
PLAN CONSISTENCY ON PROPERTY GENERALLY
LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF FARADAY AVENUNE
BETWEEN EL CAMINO REAL AND PRIESTLY DRIVE IN
LOCAL FACILITIES MANAGEMENT ZONE 5.
CASE NAME: PURCHASE OF FARMERS INSURANCE
BUILDINGS
CASE NO: PCD/GPC 01-05
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad, “Developer,” has tiled a verified application
with the City of Carlsbad regarding property owned by F.I.G. Holdings Co., “Owner,” described
as
Lot 4,5 and 12 of Carlsbad Tract No. 81-10, Unit 1, according
to Map thereof No. 10330, filed in the Office of the County
Recorder of San Diego County, February l&l982
(‘the Property”); and
WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a request for a Planning
Commission Determination for General Plan Consistency, on file in the Planning Department
PURCHASE OF FARMERS INSURANCE BUILDINGS - PCD/GPC 01-05 as provided in
Carlsbad Municipal Code Section 2.24.065 and Section 65402 of the California Government
Code; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 7th day of November 2001,
consider said request; and
WHEREAS, at said hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony and
arguments, if any, of all persons desiring to be heard, said Commission considered all factors
relating to the Planning Commission Determination; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Planning
Commission as follows:

4 That the foregoing recitations are true and correct.
B) That based on the evidence presented at the hearing, the Commission
DETERMINES that the project is consistent with the General Plan and
APPROVES PURCHASE OF FARMERS INSURANCE BUILDINGS -
PCD/GPC 01-05, based on the following findings and subject to the following
conditions:

1. This project is consistent with the goals, objectives, policies, and implementation
programs of the City’s General Plan in that the property proposed to be acquired is
designated for industrial and offke uses which allow public or civic uses.
2. That the Planning Director has determined that the project belongs to a class of
projects that the State Secretary for Resources has found do not have a significant
impact on the environment, and it is categorically exempt from the requirement for
the preparation of environmental documents pursuant to 15061(b)(3) of the State
CEQA Guidelines.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Planning
Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 7th day of November 2001, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Chairperson Segall, Commissioners Compas, Dominguez,
Heineman, Nielsen, and Trigas
NOES:
ABSENT: Commissioner Baker
ABSTAIN:
