A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, NOMINATING ONE PLANNING COMMISSIONER
TO SERVE ON THE HOUSING ELEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE

WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has begun the process of updating its housing element for the
2021-2029 Housing Element planning period; and
WHEREAS, a Housing Element Advisory Committee (HEAC) will support this effort; and
WHEREAS, the HEAC will consist of four resident representatives, one at-large representative, and
one representative each from the Housing Commission, Planning Commission, Senior Commission, and
Traffic and Mobility Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has nominated one Planning Commissioner to serve on the
HEAC;and
WHEREAS, to ensure commissioner availability throughout the committee's duration, the HEAC
charter stipulates the nominated commissioner must have at least 18 months remaining on his
or her term at the time of appointment; and
WHEAREAS, the Planning Commission's nomination will be considered and confirmed by the
Mayor and approved by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad,
as follows:
A} That the above recitations are true and correct.
B) That the following Planning Commissioner is hereby nominated to serve on the Housing
Element Advisory Committee for a term ending approximately in December 2020:

PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission of the City
of Carlsbad, California, held on October 2, 2019, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Chair Luna, Commissioners Anderson, Geidner, Lafferty, Meenes, Merz, and Stine
